Shocking Fact about Your Cell Phone
I can understand if you can’t live without your cell phone. The cell phone producers have put many interesting features in their newest products, such as an easy access to your emails and multimedia that makes your life easier. But do you know that your cell phone has a dangerous risk for your health?

It is the researchers from the Swedish National Institute who has made this amazing study. They compared 4,400 people who use the mobile phone; half of them are cancer patients and the other half are healthy people. Of the 2,200 cancer patients, who ranged in age from 20 to 80 years old, 905 had a malignant brain tumor and just under one-tenth of that number were heavy mobile phone users.
The study concluded that heavy users of cell phones have a 240 percent increased risk of developing a malignant tumor. The location of this tumor is on the side of the head where they press the phone to their ear.
The next question is what the definition of the “heavy users” is. If you use your hand phone for one hour per day, then you are categorized as heavy user.
The other conclusion of this study is that the early users, who use the cell phone before age 20, are having greater risk of developing a malignant brain tumor.
There are still a lot of debates on the result of the study. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has questioned the result of the study. Personally, I believe it. We still can’t see the long term effects of the cell phones since the booming of the cell phones was just started very recently. The people in Sweden have been using mobile phone since 1984, longer than people in many other countries, and also they involved many people in their study.
Whatever your opinion about this study, it is always better to take some precautions to prevent any unwanted effects of the use of cell phone. There are two things that you can do. Avoid wireless when possible, use your cable phone. It may not be very mobile for you, but one thing for sure, it is safer for your health. If you can’t avoid using wireless, use handsfree. I do that all the time.
