Hi, welcome to my blog.
My name is Henry Ferdiansyah. I’m a full time environment engineer and a part time blogger.
My first job is quite interesting, I would say. I’m working in a French oil and gas company that operates in Indonesia. I’m not going to tell you the name, I’m going to let you wondering a little bit.. I’ve been doing it for years now. For the first two years, I spent my time in the office, worked with a lot of paper work, report and environment studies. In that position, I learned mostly about how to do an environment assessment. I worked with several environment consultants at that time. What’s interesting from this position is that I learned to manage several projects in the same time and got the opportunity to improve my presentation skill. I’m not saying that I’m a good presenter, but at least I try to be.
After that period, I moved to site to become an environment supervisor. Personally, my second position is more interesting for me. I have a chance to meet many people, thus improving my communication skill. In one sentence I can explain that my job is to ensure the company has a good environment performance. That’s why, one of my job is to promote the green living lifestyle to the employees. It’s not easy since they come from different culture and educational background. You have to really choose your words when you talk to them, make sure they understand and believe what we say. To make them believe and follow what we say, I need to set up a good example for them. I have to do it myself before I ask somebody to do it.
Later on, I started to realize my own habit has changed. I started to respect the environment more. I felt that in our life, we really interact with the environment, what we do will directly or indirectly affecting the environment. That’s what I want to share in this blog. I’m not an expert in environment but I hope that we (myself and my colleague here) can share some valuable information for you. Help the world in promoting the green living lifestyle.
About my family.. I’m married to a really beautiful lady, her name is Adisti. She is a dentist. I met her at .. well, we knew each other since Junior High School. So we took the same Junior High School, High School and went to college in the same city, called Bandung. I’ve been falling in love with her since a long time ago and really happy to finally marry her in 2007. We have one son, almost 2 years-old, and I think we’ll have another one very soon.
Well, that’s all about me and what I do.
